About the artisan

Based in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, Nildyvan's journey as a sculptor began unexpectedly when he crafted a wooden chess set for his home. Formerly a baker, he transitioned to art after discovering his talent for wood carving. His work gained recognition during the 2017 exhibition "Roots" by Ai Wei Wei in São Paulo, where he contributed 400 intricate pieces, including hearts and hands. Nildyvan diversifies his craft by creating at least one new piece annually, aiming to connect with a broad audience.
